Social Security Calendar: Remaining Payment Dates for 2026

The Social Security Administration (SSA) has confirmed the payment schedule for the rest of the year.

Despite any potential administrative delays or government disruptions, benefit payments will continue to be deposited exactly as scheduled.

As a reminder, regular monthly payments are distributed based on your birth date:

• Born 1st–10th: Paid on the second Wednesday of the month.
• Born 11th–20th: Paid on the third Wednesday of the month.
• Born 21st–31st: Paid on the fourth Wednesday of the month.
• SSI Recipients: Payments typically arrive on the 1st of the month, unless it falls on a weekend or holiday, in which case they are paid on the closest preceding business day.

 

July 2026 – December 2026 Payment Schedule

July 2026

• SSI Payment: July 1
• Regular Payments: July 2, 8, 15, 22
• September Prep: July 31 (Advance payment for August SSI)

August 2026

• SSI Payment: July 31 (Paid early because August 1 falls on a Saturday)
• Regular Payments: August 12, 19, 26

September 2026

• SSI Payment: September 1
• Regular Payments: September 3, 9, 16, 23

October 2026

• SSI Payment: October 1
• Regular Payments: October 2, 14, 21, 28
• November Prep: October 30 (Advance payment for November SSI)

November 2026

• SSI Payment: October 30 (Paid early because November 1 falls on a Sunday)
• Regular Payments: November 3, 10, 18, 25

December 2026

• SSI Payment: December 1
• Regular Payments: December 3, 9, 16, 23
• January 2027 Prep: December 31 (Advance payment for January 2027 SSI due to the New Year's Day holiday)

Tip: If you still receive paper checks, the government strongly encourages switching to direct deposit or a Direct Express debit card to avoid any physical mail delays during the later half of the year.
