Second Facebook Settlement Payment Expected in June 2026: Everything You Need to Know
Another Round of Payments Is Coming
If you received money from Facebook's $725 million privacy settlement last year, you might get a second payment soon. This new round of payments is set to begin in June 2026 and will last about one month.
Why Is There a Second Payment?
After the first payments went out in 2025, some money was left over. This happened because some checks were never cashed, or some payments couldn't be completed. Now, that leftover money will be sent to people who successfully received their first payment.
Who Can Get This Second Payment?
This is not a new chance to sign up. The second payment is only for people who:
- Filed a valid claim during the original settlement
- Already received their first payment
If you missed the original deadline to file a claim, you cannot apply now. The window for new claims has closed.
How Much Money Will People Get?
The second payment will be much smaller than the first one. Reports say the average will be around $4.72, though the exact amount may vary by person.
You do not need to do anything to get this payment if you have already qualified. The settlement administrator will automatically send it.
Stay Safe From Scams
Some people have already received emails about this second payment. If you get an email, make sure it comes from the official settlement administrator before clicking any links or sharing personal information.
Background on the Settlement
This settlement came after claims that Facebook shared user data with outside companies without proper permission. This included the well-known Cambridge Analytica scandal. While Meta (Facebook's parent company) did not admit to doing anything wrong, they agreed to pay $725 million to settle the case.
The original settlement covered anyone in the United States who had a Facebook account between May 24, 2007, and December 22, 2022.
